In the summer of 2010, we asked 1,000 people living with ulcerative colitis (UC) to tell us how UC affects them. Voices of UC tells their story. Among our findings: almost 4 out of 5 patients say their UC is under control. People also say they had symptoms of UC for 101 days out of the year on average.

Additionally, we asked 100 specialists (gastroenterologists) who routinely treat UC patients about their experiences and we’ll tell you what they said, as well.

The 2010 Voices of UC surveys were conducted by Manhattan Research, on behalf of the Digestive Disease National Coalition (DDNC) and Janssen Biotech, Inc.
